A Little About Me...
I'm happy to say I've lived in Pittsburgh all my life, with the exception of my college years. Pittsburgh is such a great place to raise a family, it's good to be settled here. From a very early age I was called an "artistic type" and I remember playing with my mom’s camera as a child. I still have the photos I took of my dolls. I fell in love with photography again — not surprisingly — by taking pictures of my own children. Besides balancing the crazy life of a busy wife and mother (I also teach pre-school) in 2011, I took the risk of starting my own photography business. It continues to be an incredibly rewarding endeavor -- one of the best decisions I ever made.
My Philosophy...
In our fast-paced and seemingly out-of-control lives, I believe, more than ever, that photography is a relevant and important art. We are consumed by work, school, family functions, after-school activities, endless to-do lists, not to mention the choke hold our electronic devices have on us! My hope each time I walk into a portrait session, is for the families to be present in that moment. Instead of worrying about the perfect outfits and the perfect pose, I want them to relax and simply focus on being together. It's amazing how quickly a subject's real personality comes through if you let them relax. It's my job to capture these true and authentic moments. Because these are the images you will treasure most.
